About the Margaret’s Hope estate:
Margaret’s Hope is one of the best tea gardens in Darjeeling and is well known throughout the
UK. It is located in the northern valley of Kurseong, the land of white orchid. It was orginally
called Bara-Rington and was owned by Mr Bagdon from England. His daughter, Margaret, fell
in love with this garden and wished to return there after her first visit. Sadly, she passed away
on her voyage back to England. Her father renamed the garden in her memory as Margaret’s
