Guangxi Lui Bao
Chinese Dark Tea
Guangxi Lui Bao tea is very similar to the more well known Shu (ripe) Pu Erh produced in the Yunnan province. This is because a part of the processing of Shu Pu Erh was originally used to make Guangxi Liu Bao.
Traditionally this tea was made by the Zhuang minority in the village of Liu Bao in Guangxi Province. The leaves are steamed, fermented and fully oxidised. While still moist they are packed into breathable weaved baskets which hold between 30-50kg. These are then stored for several years in dark and damp chambers.
The infusion is dark brown with a clean, mellow, earthy flavour and aroma.
