This is one of the finest, early spring picked teas from the tea garden Puttabong. The infusion is an amber yellow colour with a flavour reminiscent of ripe nectarines and meadow flowers.

Elevation: 600m – 1200m above sea level

Preparation: Use freshly boiled filtered water 90-95°C.
Allow 1 slightly heaped teaspoon of tea for 300ml cup.
Infuse 3 min Best drunk without milk.

About the Puttabong Tea Estate:
The Puttabong Tea Estate (Tukvar) was the first tea garden in Darjeeling to be planted in 1852 by Dr Archibald Campbell. Puttabong translates to ‘a house of green leaves’ and is one of the largest gardens in Darjeeling, spanning 20 km across. It’s located at the northern most district of Darjeeling on the border with Sikkim.
In 1992 it was the first tea estate to set the world record for the most expensive tea sold for Rs 10,001/kg (roughly £235.25/kg at the time)! To this day they are still considered one of the top first flush Darjeeling producers.
