About the Teesta Valley Estate:
The Teesta Valley tea garden was planted by the British between 1841 and 1856 with Chinese tea bushes. It is named after the Teesta river that flows nearby. The climate is on the cooler side for Darjeeling, especially on the upper slopes. The gardens enjoy plenty of sunshine throughout the day while enjoying a cooling breeze and mists due to the orientation of the slopes. These create growing conditions that are perfect for producing some top grade Darjeeling tea!
