Feel Good Tea - Good Mood and Memory

Feel Good Teas for 2022

After the festive period we can sometimes feel the effects of the excesses of the season and look for teas to help us feel a bit better! It’s still pretty dark, damp and with all the beautiful decorations being taken down it can be a bit of a downer!

Here are our top picks for feel good teas to start the new year with!

Pu Erh Wellness Guarana

Pu Erh is an aged and fermented Chinese tea that is gradually becoming more well known in the UK. Research has been carried out in China, Taiwan and France reporting that Pu erh can help to lower cholesterol, improve liver function and assist with digestion making it a good tea to drink after a meal. Its production is very similar to green tea, but with an extra stage in which the tea is matured under special conditions that encourage active bacteria (think yoghurt) that develop the tea as it oxidises. Like wine, Pu Erh tea can be stored in the right conditions for a very long time, meaning that it has vintage years known to connoisseurs. The most expensive Pu Erh teas can sell for thousands of pounds per bag!

This particular Pu Erh has been blended with red berries, ginkgo and energising guarana. It’s a great option for those that haven’t tried Pu Erh before!

Good Mood & Memory

A special caffeine free blend of herbs to help lift your mood and refresh your memory! Herbs such as, lemon balm and lavender are known for helping to improve mood and encourage relaxation. Schisandra berries have been used in Chinese medicine for many centuries. They are considered an adaptogen and can be good for improving focus and memory as well as being rich in antioxidants as well as helping to promote good liver function. The infusion has a fresh, light citrus flavour and pleasant aroma. It’s a great tea to have at any time of the day!

Teahouse Breakfast Tea

Sometimes the best thing to help lift the spirits is a solid mug of Breakfast Tea! We source our teas direct from the Cherideo Purbat estate to ensure the best flavour and most comforting taste! This tea has been blended specifically to go well with milk. It’s not the strongest breakfast tea we sell, that would be our Irish Breakfast, but it is our in house favourite!

Rooibos Spearmint and Hibiscus

This naturally caffeine free herb from South Africa has become popular worldwide! Rooibos is generally known for its health benefits as it contains lots of antioxidants, minerals and vitamins. This particular blend is combined with rich hibiscus and sweet spearmint to create a refreshing brew!

Organic Matcha Hisui

At this point Matcha is very well known throughout the UK. It can be found in all sorts of food products, including chocolate and smoothies and is sort after for its health benefits. Originally it was,(and is still) used in the Japanese tea ceremony. The name Hisui translates as ‘Jade’ which reflects the colour of the tea leaves used to make this Matcha. Produced in the town of Kakegawa, Shizuoka Prefecture; this kind of tea is made from high quality leaves that are grown in 90% shade. This gives the infusion its bright green colour!

The infusion releases a fresh cut meadow aroma, with a full bodied, slight nutty taste. It’s a great tea to add to your daily routine either at breakfast or after lunch. We’d recommend not drinking it too late in the day as it is very stimulating!
