Every summer, regardless of the heat, we always turn to tea for refreshment! With such a wide variety of types and flavours this versatile drink is great as a hot brew or as an iced tea! We’re sharing our favourite choices for this year and included a recap of the best ways to chill your tea!

Making your Iced Tea!

There are two methods that you can use for making your iced tea. We generally use the cold brew method more often as we’ve found this gives the best outcome.

What you’ll need:

  • The tea of your choice!
  • A teapot or jug. Any size will do! We make ours using one of our filter teapots.
  • Water!

Cold Brew method: Use 8g of your chosen tea (about 4 tsp) and add 600ml of cold water. For a really good, clear brew we recommend using filtered water. Place your cold brew in the fridge and leave it for 10-12 hours. We’ve found this method gives the best result. Once it’s ready remove your tea and enjoy your tea!

Hot brew method: If you wish to speed up the process you can! Using the same amount of tea and add 600ml of boiling water and leave your tea to brew for as normal. For example, for a green tea you would normally brew for 2-3 mins, whereas if you’re using a black tea you’d be brewing for around 4-5 mins. Once brewed removed the leaves and place the tea in a fridge for approx. 5 hours. If you want to speed up the cooling process you can add ice directly to it.

Our Favourites!

Rose Earl GreyRose Earl Gre Iced Tea

This may seem like an unlikely choice. However, it has become a firm favourite amongst our team since we tried it!
Once your tea is ready fill about 2/3 of your glass with ice and pour you tea over it.
We added a slice of lemon to give it that extra bit of zest! We, also tried adding a little lemonade to give it a fizzy finish!

Result: A very refreshing iced tea with a fresh floral flavour balanced out well with the bergamot and black tea! This choice was an experiment for us and we had no idea whether it would turn out well or not! We’re very pleased with the result and will definitely be making more over the summer!
